AAE-1 - Asia-Africa-Europe 1 is a 25,000km submarine cable from South East Asia to Europe across Egypt, connecting Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia,Singapore, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Yemen, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Greece, Italy and France. The cable construction agreement was signed in 2014 and the cable is currently in its commissioning stage

The SEA-ME-WE 5 (SMW5) is a 20,000km submarine cable system connecting 17 countries from Singapore to the Middle East to France and Italy in Western Europe, with a capacity of 24 tbps. The construction and maintenance agreement of the cable was signed in 2014

The Africa 1 is planned to be a 12,000 km long cable along Africa’s east coast with up to an additional 5,000 km for branches. The construction agreement is to be signed soon. This roundtable will provide further details about this new cable system

The SACS is an approximately 6000 km cable linking Angola and Brazil. The connection consists of 4 pairs of fibre, with a capacity of 40 tbps, bandwidth of 100x100 gbps per fibre pair.
